Moogerah Passion Play 2025
The Moogerah Passion Play is produced by the Moogerah Passion Play Association Inc. a non-denominational association established in 1993. The play has the primary aim of telling the story of Jesus. Up to 100 people are involved as cast and crew to bring the story of Jesus Christ to life and around 3 000 people attend the performances each year. By using drama, many who come and see the play will understand the central truth of the good news (that’s what Gospel means) that Jesus of Nazareth is the Son of God who came so all who believe in him can have eternal life. They present the play close to Easter as that is when Christians around the world remember the crucifixion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Their one aim is to present the story as faithfully as we can without regard to doctrine. Their hope is that by coming to see the play, you will look at the story of Jesus with new eyes.

Broadbeach Bricks
From April 16 to 20, Broadbeach will transform into a LEGO® lover's paradise as Broadbeach Bricks returns for its third annual celebration! Proudly supported by Cr Darren Taylor, this free, family-friendly event promises five days of creativity, hands-on fun, and intergalactic adventures during the school holidays. This year's space-themed event invites visitors of all ages to explore a world of rockets, aliens, space stations, and far-off planets. LEGO® Masters Australia (Season 2) runners-up Andrew and Damien from Clicking Bricks will lead exciting one-hour workshops twice daily, where kids can unleash their imaginations and build cosmic creations. The highlight of the event is the Epic Build – a giant LEGO® Mech designed to explore the cosmos, with visitors contributing to this awe-inspiring masterpiece throughout the week. Josephine Ulrick and Win Schubert Photography Award 2024
Celebrate the best of contemporary Australian photography at HOTA Gallery. The Josephine Ulrick and Win Schubert Photography Award 2024 presents a diverse selection of artworks by artists at the forefront of photographic media. As a survey of contemporary practice, the award plays an important role in representing the ongoing evolution of photography and the ways in which artists use it to create striking and memorable images. As the richest prize for photography in Queensland, the $25,000 acquisitive award is open to all Australian artists working in the broad medium of contemporary photography. Visitors to the exhibition will decide the $5,000 People’s Choice Award voting for their favourite artwork. Since the Award’s inception, over 60 works have been acquired by HOTA, resulting in a celebrated collection that reflects shifts in the cultural and social landscape over two decades.
