Waltzing the Wilarra
Waltzing the Wilarra“...a highly evocative musical tale of love, jealousy, friendship and family. It is a beautiful, heartfelt production about love and loss.” Australian StageWritten and composed by David Milroy and directed by Brittanie Shipway.Produced by the producers of national tours of ‘The Sapphires’ and ‘The Sunshine Club’ comes a very special and entertaining night in the theatre.Performed by a stellar cast including Lorinda May Merrypor (Juliet in ‘& Juliet’), Shaka Cook (‘Hamilton’) and Lisa Maza (‘Stingers’) and backed by a live band.Against a backdrop of curfews, and the fear of arrest, white and black manage to form their own club where they can forget their worries and experience rare happy times, and with a little luck... romance. Forty years on, as the club faces demolition, our characters meet once again to stage a musical reunion and protest in an attempt to save their old stomping ground. Trent Dalton’s Love Stories
Trent Dalton’s Love StoriesGet ready to fall in love all over again. This restless city has a story to tell. “I believe in touch. I believe in song. I believe she remembers him. I believe the perfect girl can always meet the perfect boy. I believe we are not alone in the universe” A father prepares himself for the day he lets go of his daughter’s hand. A young man breaks up with his girlfriend so they can both follow their dreams. A couple play nice in public to hide the fractures at home. A woman rebuilds herself along with a flood-devastated city. A working mum contemplates taking the photographs of her late husband down from the fridge. A grandmother dreams of seeing her grandson’s face. A renowned 100-year-old scientist ponders the one great earthly puzzle he was never able to solve: 'What is love?' Inspired by a personal moment of profound love and generosity, bestselling author – and one of Australia's finest journalists – Trent Dalton spent two months in 2021 gathering stories on his sky-blue 1960s Olivetti typewriter, on a prominent street corner in Brisbane’s CBD. Speaking to Australians from all walks of life, he asked them one simple thing: 'Can you please tell me a love story?' What followed was Dalton’s unashamedly joyous collection of Love Stories, and the creative team behind the smash-hit page-to-stage adaptation of Boy Swallows Universe (director Sam Strong and writer Tim McGarry) reuniting to bring to life Dalton’s latest warm, wise, poignant, funny and moving story about love, in all its guises. “It dives into the chaos of love – the joy, the pain, the laughter. The heartbreak...sending you back to the streets feeling just a little more alive” - The Guardian

Rob Beckett
GiraffeComedian, presenter and panel-show superstar announces new tour Giraffe for 2025. Smashing the life out of the M25, M1, M5 and any other road that’s in my way. From Bromley to Brisbane, my new show Giraffe is going worldwide. Expectations on me: put on 3 stone from takeaways and post-show drinking. Expectations of you: leave the gig happier than when you arrived. My wife thinks it’s going to be tough for me to be away from the family, and don’t get me wrong, I do love my children/podcast content providers… but I also enjoy a lie-in and a hotel buffet breakfast. I think I’ll cope. What else is there to do? Sit next to your partner on the sofa, scrolling TikTok in silence again? You did that the last three nights. See you there! Host of Sky’s Rob Beckett’s Smart TV and Rob & Romesh Vs. He’s also the unmistakable voice of Channel 4’s Celebs Go Dating and the smash-hit podcast Parenting Hell. “Hilarious” – The Mirror “Naturally funny” – The Times “Hilariously observational comic… brings roars of laughter” – Arts Desk bohmpresents.com
