Macbeth
Macbeth“What's Done Cannot Be Undone” Experience the premiere of a fresh, captivating production of Shakespeare’s classic, Macbeth. This dynamic new adaptation brings a fresh perspective to one of literature's greatest plays. An unexpected prophecy at the close of a devastating war sends a national hero and his brilliant wife on a feverish and murderous quest for absolute power. With startlingly beautiful language, Shakespeare’s revered tragedy tears open the thin fabric between the temporal and magical worlds. This muscular, contemporary production looks at today’s world through Macbeth’s eyes – an epoch where double speak is rife, where violence is a modern ecstasy and true loyalty is our most valuable commodity. Shakespeare combines Scottish and English history with Greek myth to one simple end – to capture what it is to be human. What happens to us when we sacrifice our humanity to get ahead? We live in such a time, an unprecedented era that idolises fame and celebrity above leadership and morality. In such a time and place, perhaps even nature begins to fight back. A boldly imaginative, fully contemporary and brand new production of Shakespeare’s Macbeth from Sport for Jove that is true to the text and full of engaging revelations, a wonderful experience for students and teachers.

DROWNED MERCEDES
DROWNED MERCEDESDrowned Mercedes was created in 2023. Based on an existing 1996 Mercedes Benz SL, the open top car was customised to hold water in its cabin. It was first exhibited at QAGOMA as part of Zavros's solo retrospective exhibition The Favourite. The car is a replica of one given to the artist by his early art dealer, Gold Coaster Win Schubert and connects with themes of luxury, consumerism, narcissism and a migrant materialism consistent in his practice. Also consistent with past works, the car exists as a folly, a contemporary ruin.

Guy Montgomery
I’ve Noticed So Many Things, It’d Be Unfair To Keep Them To MyselfAward-winning Kiwi comedian, podcaster and improviser Guy Montgomery brings his new stand-up show ‘I’ve Noticed So Many Things, It’d Be Unfair To Keep Them To Myself’ to Australia in 2025. He’s well known to Australian audiences through TV shows like Guy Montgomery’s Guy Mont-Spelling Bee, Have You Been Paying Attention and Thank God You’re Here. The national tour will include dates at the Adelaide Fringe Festival, the iconic Atheneum Theatre in Melbourne – where Montgomery will play his biggest Melbourne International Comedy Festival shows to date, the Perth Comedy Festival and the Sydney Comedy Festival, before shows in Brisbane, Newcastle, Wollongong, the Gold Coast and wrapping in Geelong. Montgomery said, “People often wonder what I get up to when I'm not relaying my observations about the world to them and I'm finally ready to talk. The truth is whenever I'm not relaying my observations, I am out in the community, harvesting a fresh crop of bespoke observations. That's what this show is about.” The shows follow Montgomery’s sold out 2024 tour ‘Over 50,000,000 Guy Fans Can’t Be Wrong’ that saw him perform in Australia, New Zealand and the UK. In addition this year, Montgomery’s growing popularity in Australia led to him hosting the Opening Night Comedy Allstars Supershow at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and saw his TV series Guy Montgomery’s Mont-Spelling Bee premiere on ABC TV. Join Guy for a chance to think "I've also noticed that" or "I had not noticed that but now I think about it, that is a bit what it is like." "One of Oceania's premier observational comedians" - The Age “This was like a masterclass in stand-up comedy.” - NZ Herald

First Light | Skywhales Across Australia
First Light | Skywhales Across AustraliaIn partnership with National Gallery of Australia Skywhale and Skywhalepapa as the sun rises. Skywhalepapa is a monumental sculpture in the form of a hot-air balloon. Together with its companion piece Skywhale they form a skywhale family. As the skywhales float across the dawn skies, Piccinini calls on communities to engage with them creatively. Make a morning of it, prepare a picnic, watch in awe, and sing along in wonder as the skywhale family takes flight. Image credit: Patricia Piccinini, Skywhalepapa, 2020 and Skywhale, 2013, National Gallery of Australia, Kamberri/Canberra, © Patricia Piccinini. Photo by We Met in June ‘I imagine visitors assembling to watch these giant figures come to life. As the dawn breaks. They see Skywhalepapa and Skywhale take shape and ascend into the air together, connected by a bond of care. It is a simple story, but a beautiful and uplifting one. With a single skywhale figure we have a character, but with the two we have a relationship and a narrative.’ Patricia Piccinini

David in the Studio
David in the StudioExperience a strikingly faithful replica of Michelangelo’s David – meticulously craved from the same Carrara marble as the original. By echoing both the material and scale of the Renaissance masterpiece, we blur the lines between homage and critique, questioning ideals of beauty, authorship and cultural permanence. In this uncanny recreation, past and presence collide, compelling audiences to consider what it means to replicate genius in an age of mass reproduction and digital reinvention.
